Stop giving them milkbones! Uh and stop feeding them Purina while I'm on the topic! I'm so tired of hearing "We've been feeding ____[enter something like Science Diet, IAMS, Puppy Chow] forever and our dogs live a long time." Really? Your dogs enjoy corn, and meat by-product...okay.

Veggies and Fruits for Dogs!
Ours particularly like these people foods: cheese, yogurt, pumpkin, apples, and cranberries. Now I'm sure they will tell you they prefer meat, but they don't get that...we aren't feeding a raw diet quite yet...I have no idea how to do that way of feeding.

ReplyDeleteDon't forget about sweet potatoes. For a special treat, cook a whole chicken in the crock pot with celery and carrots. Typically it will take about 6 hours on high, but you'll know when it's ready because the meat falls off the bone.
In a pinch, you can bake chicken breasts in water and stick the carrots/celery in there too!
